XM vs Sirius Satellite radio

I've had XM for over a year now. I love it. I can't listen to normal radio now. I've just had a dash top unit. Now I just recently got a new car that has Sirius in it. I've only heard Sirius a few times before in a friends car. I thought I liked it better than XM, but now I don't. XM is great if you like sports. I mainly listened to the electronic station BPM and the alternative station Ethel. I really liked Ethel. I heard a lot of new songs on there. There doesn't seem to be a Sirius equivalent in one station. Now Sirius is great for it's electronic stations and it's heavy and classic rock. I miss Ethel though. I think I need to just listen more. Both are way better than standard radio. But right now I think I like XM better.

I heard alot of the big sports stuff is going to sirious...whom I like better anyway. I'm not a big sports guy ...duh. But, sirious to me is better overall.

XM blows siruis away ive had xm for 2 years now from a terk adapter for my sony head unit and just love it, and who gives a rats ass about howard stern hes on new york radio im from canada why would i want to listen to his honking nose all day
its all about the music and i find siruis music jumps around to much xm music will get u in a mood and keep u in the mood with xm u can almost bet that u will hear one of your favorite songs from a station when listening to siruis a good song will come on and get u in a mood then bam a crap song comes on that totally kills the mood then more crap songs and more then until a good one sirius djs seem to be traped in the past with playing all american favorites.

I like them both. Now Sirius has grown on me. I still miss Ethel though, and BPM. But I can get them on DirecTV. If you don't go for sports or Howard I'd say it's almost a wash. I do like BBC Radio One on Sirius. But some of their They have a weird order too. All in all I like both.

Dear Listeners :

I'm glad I found this website. Let me first start out by saying that I love radio so when I first decided to go with satellite radio I was pretty sure I would be choosing Sirius by far over XM but now after careful review and consideration on my part I am now leaning toward XM. I have seriously been weighing my options for a while now when it comes to Sirius Vs XM and one thing I do like about XM are the music and comedy channels. I'm addicted to XM's 70's, channel and XM's comedy channel 150! I'll be honest with you I loved the music channels and I love stand up comedy. I love a good comedian and those comedy channels on XM just blew me away! I borrowed a friends XM Receiver for about a week and I got addicted to XM comedy channel 150! WOW I was impressed! I am also starting to love Cajun music and did not see a New Orleans Sounds channel on Sirius like XM has! I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with XM and O&A in the mornings! I feel like Howard has been very hypocritical to us (his listeners) for years now regarding his career. For years Stern told us how Imus tried to undermine his radio career and then he (Stern) goes around and does the same thing to O&A! I'm sorry but for me I found that to be very hypocritical. I also feel the same as many other former Stern listeners do that the Howard Stern show has been in a steep decline for the past 5-6 years now from about 99-2000 pretty much right after his divorce from Allison and the departure of Jackie the Jokeman Martling! Why is this? No one knows!! As far as the NFL is concerned I get enough NFL on TV, the Internet, and by way of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette which is basically 24/7 365 days a year so I don't think I'll be missing anything too important! Plus XM has Fox Sports and ESPN Radio so I won't miss the Dan Patrick show in the afternoons or the Mark Madden show either which is a great local Pittsburgh based radio show! I guess now I can honestly say that I am leaning toward XM! I have done my research and I now feel confident in my decision that I'm choosing XM over Sirius! I love the content on XM and I feel overwhelmed by the quality of radio! Thank You for listening!

P.S. In the subject I put I'm leaning toward XM. I could have easily titled this e-mail "There is Life outside of the NFL and Howard Stern and I'm choosing it"!

XM Satellite radio sucks the big one. I sent back a radio for replacement and it took over 2 months and 8 phone calls to resolve.
Now I got the new radio and those foreign customer service reps are not only hard to understand, but they are idiots. Wait on hold for a long time etc etc. When it runs out I am cancelling all 3 radios and smashing the to pieces before I send them back

Well it's official XM is merging with Sirius because the programers at XM are idiots.

I used to love XM until I heard Sirius now that's a satellite radio company that understands music. Now XM has great baseball etc but their music stations simply suck. They play songs on their new wave station Fred that where B sides to new wave hits from the 80's. XM is notorius for offending it's talk radio listeners by reprograming stations we pay money to hear in thier original programing.......XM is run by stupid business people I can't wait to hear what Sirius will do to XM....hopefully kill it and take over the sports channels and Opra for my wife.

Good bye XM...you failed because you didn't listen to the people who do you think you are Clear Channel?
