And then in the comments ignorant statements like "driving hummers supports questionable regimes" Please. Apparently they don't know where we get most of your oil from. Here too. I hate that argument, it is so ignorant. Trying to appeal to patriotism.

Even if little money proportionally goes to these "questionable regimes", there's no doubt that they are kept in power because of oil money and that without oil politics the whole region (and many countries' foreign policy) would be vastly different.

Prove it. Prove US money keeps these regimes in power. The whole region? What region, the mid east? So Canada might be different if US oil consumption went down? Or Mexico's? That whole argument is a strawman, and that is what I have an objection to.
