I hate Mac users

I suppose Windows and Linux users and any other OS fans are just as bad. Look at this post:

I don't know or care if the internal card is vulnerable too. But all the rapid mac fans must state that they used a 3rd party device and its not Apples fault. Umm hello so what. Every PC is a third party device to Windows, Windows does not make hardware, well windows branded PC's at least. Yet if this were run on a windows machine everyone would be blaming Windows and Microsoft. Even Apple outsources their components.

In my opinion Apple make atrocious hardware, I hate my IPOD, first I have a hard time with the software and itunes, then a small drop puts it out of commission and somehow I was able to save it. Look at all of Apples problems with heat now, or leaving plastic on vents, or discoloration. Anytime a new product comes out there are reports of problems but somehow Apple comes out unscathed and looking better than before. Microsoft or the American car companies or whatever business that's having a hard time need to hire Apples PR and marketing people.

Now on to using a Mac, why would I want to? I program in .NET. A Windows only language. If MS were smart they would create Visual Studio for Linux and run Mono or something. Why not OSX? Because like 12 people use it for business. I suppose "artists" use it. I'm not sure why, it is not any better than any other OS for that, as far as I know. I have no reason to buy an Apple beyond the tinkering fact. I know PC's, I know Windows. I can fix any problem I have. I don't even know how to open a program on a Mac.

As for security, well OSX is probably no better than Windows. But business is dominated by Windows, why write a Mac virus? Again so 12 people are affected? I've never had a virus. Oh i take that back, I had one that made my PC beep when I typed. I've never had my PC broken into either. I didn't run an anti-virus program nor firewall for years. Most virii are from user action. Stupid users = infected computers.

Now I really do hate Mac fanatics, well any fanboy really. I'm not sure why the Apple culture is considered 'cool'. I guess I'm not cool, I don't want a Mac.

Wow, people are still responding to this? LOL I like Apples now. I still wouldn't get one though. But I'd get one for my parents or something that need something to work. But of course they have not had any trouble with their windows computers. If I had money to burn I'd by a Mac to play with. Hell I might even use it. But I still think many Mac users have that "Better than Thou" attitude.

3rd-party hardware and software requires an Administrator password to install. There is countless software configurations I can complete that will render my Mac vulnerable if I choose to. The demonstation was like breaking into a safe by leaving the key in the lock.

BTW, no one would blame MS if a 3rd-party software was easily hacked. There are lots of programs ON ALL OSes that can become backdoors into one's personal life. The first line of defense is to not install such programs (eg: Kazaa).

Despite Apple having less amrket share than Windows, the argument that no one would write a virus for it is silly. As soon as OS X hit the internet there were people trying to break it. To be the first. After all, there are about a 1000x less people using WIndows Vista and there is already malware for it. IT'S STILL IN BETA.

I'm by no means stating that OS X is unbreakable. But the last 5 years have proven that OS X is much less suseptible. This is a fact and gives peace of mind to many a mac user who doesn't have to run Adware/Spyware/Virus Checkers constantly.

You say that you know Windows; of course it's feels better than an OS that you claim you don't know how to run a program in. It's simpe; If it's in the Dock double-click it, otherwise go to FInder => Application. Installing/deleting/moving an OS X program is so much easier than other OSes. They are self contained. I can drag Firefox from on Mac to another and it just works. No installer needed.

There are mainly two types of Mac users: Ones who want a simple machine because they aren't technical, and ones who spend their work week fixing,/updating/configuring/repairing Windows workstations and Windows & Unix servers who want something that is powerful and JUST WORKS.

It was true under the old OS that Macs had few programs compared to WIndows, but those days are long gone. With Unix at the core, there are most Unix/Linux apps ported to OS X and there isn't anything Windows can do that a Mac probably can't do better and easier, with a few exceptions.

Even .NET runs faster under Windows in Parallels virtulization than it does nativevy. I can't explain it, but it's true. Don't credit Apple with this feat, credit Parallels; just like you should credit the shody vendor of bad drivers and not Apple.

I use both Platforms alot, and i have to credit each one for their own usefullness. However Macs have a strange habit of not being as bitchy as Windows. I have never had a problem running OS X, no viruses, no painfully slow internet browsers, and general ease of use. If you don't want to use OS X and you dont like it then don't, and as the last pro mac said if u dont like ur ipod get rid of it, stop whining, its a choice, no one is forcing u to use OS X on a Mac, go on using a Windows PC excusivly. Most Mac users use both anyway, im writing this in Windows right now. By the way i just bought a new MacBook, yes they run hot but is not horrible, no discolouration etc. And also i can tell u why artists use it, one reason - As a 3D modeler when ur on a roll creating an object u dont have time to save as often as u should and then CRASH, you just lost a half hour of work and risking possibly a corrupted file. Thats It.

I'm not so much against Mac's themselves, but the rabid users. See I never have a problem with windows. No virii, spy ware or crashing. I can't remember the last time windows crashed on me or I got a bluescreen. It's pushing a few years now. If your computer is crashing, it's not because of the OS, it's because of you and all the crap you have on it. Like I said I have no reason to go over to a mac. I'd try the OS if I could run it on my laptop and didn't have to buy Apple hardware. I do dislike my ipod, but it is one of the few players that play Audible. I might get a new one, it seems all the cool car integration things only work with IPOD's. I tried it and found my experience lacking.

I'm a 3D modeler and I can tell you that Maya on Mac crashes a billion times more than Maya on anything else. I'm personally a linux fan, but I use Windows just for ease of use and program selection. I can personally tell you from an artist's point of view, that Mac's are worthless. Last week ('cause I do have to use both) I managed to lag my G5 with textpad.... TEXT PAD! When macs stop sucking I'll stop ripping on them. But for the mac fan, I'll say this. The new intel powered machines are showing promise as they don't lag on textpad :P BTW - Don't get me started on iPods... They are the devil and equally worthless.

Windows knocking by Mac users, especially in regards to stability, should only ever be answered with a challenge for Apple to stop hiding behind their preconfigured hardware and become a REAL competitor to Microsoft by releasing their operating system for use on and x86 or x64 hardware.

Apple constantly takes potshots at Microsoft when actually competes more with HP and Dell.

Too bad Job's won't ever have the balls to really start competing in MS's league.

Mac users are like Philadelphia Flyer's fans, import vehicle supporters, and people from Canada.

Import vehicle supporters constantly remind everyone what they drive, bitch about domestic cars, and try to shove their opinions down everyones throats.

Mac user's also shove it down everyone's throat, refuse to admit when a PC product outpeforms a Mac, and are annoying "recruiters". "Mac's are better and thats that" attitude is standard operating procedure.

-All of my GM motor vehicles went way beyond 200,000 miles with decent gas mileage.

-Im half Canadian, and they do bitch entirely too much about the US.

-Definatley not a Flyer's fan and proud of it like millions of other people.

-Happy PC owner, no virus or spyware issues, great high end games like Oblivion, Ghost Recon, and RS:Vegas, photoshop, video editing programs, tons of movies downloaded from uTorrent, tons of free music. This custom PC was EASY to make (practicaly plug and play construction for christ's sake), and WAAAAAYYYY CHEAPER than a Mac. I use Mac's at my art school, and I am not impressed enough to switch. Just my $0.02.

i think that "those" mac users with the attitude are mostly overinflated by tv comercials and movie product placement. the fact is that if i only ran my software on a couple of hardware pieces, i too could optimize it. windows has to run on almost every piece of hardware immaginable. now, my windows crashes all the time, but thats because i keep tinkering with ALL kinds of hardware

as with a standard pc you can see what you are doing you can easly update and upgrade hardware. evrything is possible...i like it that way.

if my hdd packs up i flip the lid and replace it... but not that easy on a mac 3 hrs later with lots of screws left over!

windows sucks. in plain english. I ve never found things more difficult with a pc no matter what the task is. Everything in windows is a fu+++ing project to do. Soon we will take over all of those "P"iece of "C"raps.

It's not that I HATE mac, ...I do admit, there OS is much more pretty.

However, my experience with MAC...

We bought a G4 mirror door AMD duo core 1.0GHZ 1GB RAM,

worked for 20 minutes, froze...

turned it off, turned it back on.

go on the mac website, match the exact numbers to update the mac, nothing is matching.

Says free updates...yet it says it costs $150.00 for an update?

I go to the system profile apple icon on the top, and see, System updates!

I click it...starts downloading...

Freezes...

I restart it..

doesn't turn on..

I turn it off...

turn it back on...

Stays blank...

Smell something burning...

turn it off once again.

Open the side, look at the processor and the heat sink set up they have...

Sigh in disbelief of how retarded there set up is.

Look up at my custom made antec nine hundred, with a 3.0 GHZ quad core processor, 4GB of ballistix ram, and 2 evga Nvidia 640MB 8800 gts's PC and I swear to god I thought I heard it laughing at me.

My brother..brings the mac to the mac store...

They say, we're sorry there's nothing we can do, it's either the processor or the mother board...

Uh...yeah, I could've guess that also?

then proceeds to tell my brother it'll cost over 1,000 dollars to get repaired then said, in 6 months it'll be vintage...

...I go on my PC, look up a processor and motherboard..find something similar selling for 100 dollars, and a processor selling for 87 dollars.

Where's this mysterious 813 dollars coming from? Ok, I can see, labor...but I can do it myself, it's not hard.

They don't have common hardware, it's very secluded and pertentious.

I never had a virus on my PC, like everyone says, I think I had one, but that was from stupidity and I don't even think it was a virus, I just wanted to reinstall windows xp64 just because it's what I do every year.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with common hardware parts that are cheap, then extremely rare expensive hardware that's physically impossible to find and when you find it, it's cut throat on ebay and end up spending 100% more then it's worth.

I saw one of the comments up there stating that the entire Mac campaign was geared toward people who can't use computers (something to that effect) .. only in the PC world is "ease of use" considered a drawback LOL ...

One gets the feeling that many PC users are dropouts from an electrician's school and now desperately try to live out their days and nights tinkering away with the entire guts of their computer laid out on the desk lol Makes you feel cool or something..Mac users simply buy a computer TO USE IT.

And damn you all break sh*t .. nothing ever runs right for you does it? *tear .. So many nights I'm downstairs working on my Mac, getting tons of work done, while my roommate is upstairs with his head in his hands, sighing about his PC crashing again (NO JOKE)

Bottom line, Bill Gates won't get ONE DOLLAR from me and that's a BIG PART of the Mac experience ... Microsoft is a monster, hellbent on keeping its monopoly at all costs... Mac users ARE REVOLUTIONARY .. we are rebels at heart.

btw I don't have an iPhone and got an iPod for Xmas I never use .. Mac users do not simply buy anything and everything Mac; PC users are the brain-washed corporate zombies, not us. Yes, I like my computer to look nice LOL, but the style of Macs are just a bonus.. AND WHAT A BONUS IT IS!! ;)

I love it when mac charges 12,000 for a g5 with a 7300 video card...

apparently being an audio visual computer means, you don't need a good video card to produce proper images and correct timings.

My new MacBook Pro is the nicest computer I have ever owned. The experience I am having with this laptop is 2nd to none. This is a quality machine and a quality OS.

for me its not about which os is prettier or is trendier, and macs are not revolutionary:p (How u can associate an os with a philosophical idea i have noclue) any way i prefer pcs for the stated reason that hardware is cheap and accesable, and i am by no means an electrical engineer, but im at least proficiant in basic hardware installation. to be honest i have a triple boot setup, xp, osx and ubuntu on my desktop, (a homebuilt pc!) (osx86.org, check it out!) not to mention many more oses on vmware (also pretty sweet). The point im making is while osx is very (very) easy to use there are many instances of loss of functionality and a general clutter to get through. If you are a very basic computer user and want a reliable os (and you can afford it) a mac would probably work well for you, but again it is a personal fit. personally i dont appriciate the mac ads for the fact that they commit a logical fallacy called ad-nauseum, by saying that popularity (read: trendiness) is best. Do all of you absolutely love Akon's Smack that? because it went platinum! Not to compare macs to a meaningless and horible song, but you get my point. i see it as pointless to argue about because thay are all different and better in their own way (os racism?). anyway i hope to one day eliminate the ignorance of popular thought.

As someone who has used PC's all their adult life and has never used Macs, I really have nothing against them... they're just another type of computer. What really irritates me is the attitude of most Mac users I know... ie. Macs are the only good computers and PC's (and PC users) suck. It seems to me an example of "the lady doth protest too much"
