So a few weeks ago they opened up the forums.
Ars-Soap Box For some reason they are pay to post. I guess to weed out the cheap ass's, or more likely to weed out the so called trolls. The funny thing is that many of the suscribers seem like trolls, but its ok because they paid. I of course jumped right in and posted away. Lots of posts. In fact too many. I don't know how some of these people respond to every thread, it moves faster than I'm used to.
I'm not so sure I like it there. Too many know it alls that MUST be right. There are many very intelligent people there, but more are just trying to sound smart. Me included. It doesn't help that I can't articulate what I think well. Kind of ironic I have a blog then huh? Many people there seem like typical nerds, social outcasts. From not likeing children laughing on subways to thinking children are burdens. It is really sad. Is this just a subset of humanity or is this more towards the way we are moving as a society? The people on the board that are religious or just all around tolerant are eshewed and ridiculed. And its ok, because the others riduculing paid to post.
I enjoy a good debate, but not when the other side is irrational and won't listen, then there is just no point. Thats how many debates over there are. I hope it closed again and i won't beable to post. I don't have the will power to let such stupid opinions go unanswered. Of course I probably make myself look the same way. Oh well.
